Chamber View: #DareTo Make a Difference

By Metro Chamber|March 1, 2017|News Coverage|

Dare to step outside comfort zones and embrace risk.
Dare to achieve those goals that seem out of reach.
Dare to make an impact.

It’s the #DareTo mentality that is driving Metro EDGE’s Emerge Summit on April 6. Each year the Emerge Summit – the largest one-day gathering of young professionals in Northern California – aims to motivate and encourage our young professional workforce to think big and dare to make a difference.

Metro EDGE, a program of the Sacramento Metro Chamber Foundation, is comprised of nearly 700 engaged and energetic young leaders in the Capital Region whose main objective is to play an active and intentional role in making an impact on our region today and laying the groundwork required to ensure a successful future.

This year, Emerge attendees will walk away from the Summit feeling the urge to dare to do something meaningful and to explore the unknown. Entrepreneur Maci Peterson, who created the app On Second Thought, and Sacramento’s own former UFC fighter, Urijah Faber, will share their personal stories centered around trusting instincts, embracing fear and building a business. Attendees will participate in multiple educational breakout sessions geared towards personal and professional development, creating lasting change in your community, and the future of our region.

While Emerge is one day, all year long, Metro EDGE members are hard at work planting the seeds for the region’s future in a myriad of ways. Young professionals are looking to connect with, and empower each other to grow professionally, and to make our region a place they want to live and work. Metro EDGE aims to Educate, Develop, Give, and Empower by offering members professional development trainings, community engagement opportunities, networking events and mentorship opportunities with more seasoned professionals.

If you’re a young professional and want to engage in your community, join Metro EDGE and attend Emerge! If you employ or work with a number of young professionals, and want to help your colleagues feel connected to our region, dare them to join us! Our region is at the forefront of growth thanks in great part to the fresh ideas of young professionals. We need your help in building upon our region’s success and strengthening our workforce of today and that of tomorrow.
