Metro EDGE represents more than 400 of the best and brightest of the Capital Region’s young leaders. Metro EDGE members (better known as “EDGErs”) come from a myriad of business, public and nonprofit sectors with diverse backgrounds and education levels. Ensuring the future of Sacramento is at the heart of Metro EDGE’s mission: To Engage a diverse network, Develop critical business skills, Give back to the community and Empower leadership.

Leadership Sacramento develops community-minded business and civic leaders of tomorrow. This year-long interactive program provides a behind-the-scenes view of the issues that impact the region’s economy and livelihood and culminates in the completion of a community project for a non-profit. Elected officials and CEOs are among the 1,000+ of individuals who have participated in this program.

Inspire Giving seeks to spread the spirit and joy of giving in the Sacramento region by enabling every individual to become a life-long philanthropist through the creation of a perpetual gift for the region. Individuals contribute to Inspire Giving to be able to collectively give a donation larger than they could give on their own. Every year Inspire Giving provides a $10,000 grant and in-kind services to a local nonprofit. Truly, a little is enough, if enough people do it.

Thousand Strong’s mission is to work together as a community to boost Sacramento’s economic prosperity by working with local businesses to create a pool of skilled, experienced young talent. The year-long, paid internship program matches young, talented students with businesses and then readies those interns for success on the job.

Lemonade Day is a free, fun, experiential learning program that teaches youth how to start, own and operate their own business – a lemonade stand. Each child that registers receives a backpack with an Entrepreneur Workbook that teaches them the lessons of Lemonade Day like creating budgets, setting profit-making goals, serving customers, repaying investors, and giving back to the community. Along the way, they acquire skills in goal-setting, problem solving, and gain self-esteem critical for future success. They keep all the money they make and are encouraged to spend some, save some and share some.

Metro EDGE is part of the leading demographic that is creating real and positive change in our region.

It was the countless hours and donations from the business men and women of the Sacramento Metro Chamber that made it all possible. Through their dedication and their hard work, we now have a food bank that is a wonderful facility for the entire community of Sacramento and I can’t say thank you enough.
