KVIE Public Television brings PBS to Northern California

Driven by a core mission to inspire you to explore the world and connect with your community, KVIE Public Television is the PBS station serving Northern California and the Central Valley, broadcasting in 28 of California’s 58 counties. From programs designed to keep you in the know like PBS NewsHour and FRONTLINE to riveting science and drama on NOVA and MASTERPIECE, KVIE and PBS share a commitment to educating, enriching, and inspiring viewers, both over-the-air and online.

KVIE is also a community convener, producing dozens of original episodes of television each year. Award-winning shows like Rob on the Road, Studio Sacramento, KVIE Arts Showcase, Inside California Education, and Yes! We’re Open highlight Northern California’s great qualities.

As part of the mission to educate and enrich, KVIE recently launched a channel that’s all PBS KIDS shows – 24 hours a day, seven days a week. KVIE is the region’s largest preschool, and PBS KIDS is America’s largest classroom, promoting general learning as well as emotional and STEM education. In fact, the American Academy of Pediatrics specifically recommends PBS KIDS programming for its high quality and educational efficacy. The KVIE PBS KIDS channel is available over the air and online. It is the only free national service available anywhere, and it reaches more children ages 2-5 in low-income homes than any other children’s TV network.

KVIE is proud to be your PBS station. For the 14th year in a row, a national survey has rated PBS as #1 in public trust among nationally known institutions.
