Dear Richard S. Costigan and the Board of Trustees:

From the communities in our golden foothills to the neighborhoods in our urban city core, to the agricultural fields in the Valley, we are proud of the diversity of our Capital Region.

Our business community mimics the quilt of varying landscapes in our region. Industries such as agriculture, health care, hospitality, education, and technology drive our economy, and it is the diversity of our workforce that fuels it.

As the Chambers of Commerce representing our region’s diverse identities and employees, we celebrate our business diversity and are committed to providing opportunities for all to find meaningful employment and enriching the quality of life in our region. We know we are stronger when we embrace and take pride in our differences so that we might all reap the benefits of a strong region. While diverse viewpoints sometimes divide others, the Capital Region strives to see our diversity as that which unites us.

The Unity Center at the California Museum will allow visitors to learn our civil rights history and inspire them to not only accept the differences of others, but celebrate the uniqueness of each person, group, and community in our region. We wish to congratulate and extend our gratitude to the California Museum and the Museum’s Board of Trustees on the grand opening of the Unity Center and are excited to embrace this important cultural amenity to our Capital Region.

Sincerely,
