Sacramento Metro Chamber Launches the MetroBusiness Center that Provides Comprehensive Free Resources for Small Businesses

Businesses throughout the region have access to a suite of customized resources including one-on-one consulting services, technical assistance & more

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Sacramento Metro Chamber is proud to announce the MetroBusiness Center officially launches today, serving the six-county Greater Sacramento Region. The in-house Metro Business Center offers one-on-one consulting and specialized business education to small businesses, functions in line with those offered by the SBDC (Small Business Development Center) which was previously housed at the Chamber.

Effective with the launch of the MetroBusiness Center, the invaluable continuity of services will be performed by an internal team of dedicated, top-level Metro Chamber staff. The MetroBusiness Center is led by Amanda Blackwood, Metro Chamber President & CEO, and Kyla Bryant, Director.

“The launch of the MetroBusiness Center is a gamechanger for our region’s small business community,” said Amanda Blackwood, President & CEO of the Sacramento Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce. “Whether its one-on-one business counseling, navigating folks through acquiring capital, or our cohort-based training series – the Center provides authentic support directly tailored and designed to meet the specific needs of our incredibly diverse business community.”

As background, more than $57 million in economic impact was generated for the local region in over the span of just one year, directly resulting in the expansion of job availability, revenues and growth for small business and the communities served.

The MetroBusiness Center will offer guidance to small business owners or entrepreneurs on topics that include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Starting a business
  • Business plans
  • Compliance education
  • Accessible funding options
  • Financial management
  • QuickBooks
  • Marketing
  • Human Resources
  • Managing a team

“After navigating the continuing series of challenges over the course of the last two years, we have a very clear picture of the ‘points of pain’ our small businesses were facing during the pandemic. The launch of the Center will build upon our proven ability to make the critical difference in their success. We know business owners have ambitious goals and we are here to support big dreams every step along the way,” added Blackwood.
