Amanda Blackwood to Conclude Tenure as President and CEO at end of 2023
Sacramento, CA – Sacramento Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce Board Chairman Darrell
Treat and President and CEO, Amanda Blackwood announced today that she will depart as the
organization’s leader at the end of 2023.
“Leading the Metro Chamber and advocating for this region’s business community has been the
most incredible privilege of my career. The organization is in an incredibly strong position and
after serving for six years, the time will be right for me to make way for new leadership, explore
exciting opportunities, and allow me to be more present for my family.” said Blackwood. “This
will be a bittersweet year for me, but one in which I know the Metro Chamber will achieve
tremendous results for the region’s businesses and their employees.

contract term expires at the conclusion of the calendar year,” said Darrell Teat,
Board Chairman of the Sacramento Metro Chamber of Commerce. “While we would have loved
for Amanda to remain as CEO of the Metro Chamber to continue the momentum developed
under her leadership, the opportunities are abundant for her to capitalize on her portfolio of
skills and reputation as a bold and strategic leader. We look forward to supporting Amanda
along her journey as she continues to advocate for the Sacramento region.”
Since 2018, Amanda has served as the President and CEO of the Metro Chamber. She is the first
full time female President and CEO in the 128+ year history of Metro Chamber, a detail always
firmly embedded in her strategic approach to leading the direction, vision, culture, and business
operations of the Metro Chamber.
Amanda has been an unmuted advocate for economic inclusion and recovery, homelessness
and business leadership in the region and strives to bring all groups together to enact positive
change.

Most recently, under Amanda’s leadership, the Metro Chamber spearheaded Sacramentans for
Safe and Clean Streets and Neighborhoods, a coalition that drafted and proposed Measure O
for the November ballot, pronouncing both a victory and complimentary Partnership
Agreement between the city and county of Sacramento to address the region’s homelessness
crisis.
