Barking for Bones

Thank you for supporting Barking for Bones. Online orders are now closed for the summer and will open again in August 2022!

Students in Rio Americano’s Independent Living Skills Program are participating in Lemonade Day Sacramento and are launching “Barking for Bones,” a homemade dog treat business. Together with the ILS Staff, Lemonade Day Sacramento provides students with an opportunity to learn how to build and maintain all parts of a business, including writing a business plan, advertising, producing the product, selling, delivery, and maintaining inventory.

Students will also build on their real life skills like money management and exchange, cooking and social skills. They are going to give back to their community by donating their product to a local animal shelter.

Barking for Bones will reopen Fall 2022!
