Chamber View: Reach YOUR #NextLevel

By Metro Chamber|February 1, 2018|Foundation, Metro Chamber, News Coverage|

There’s never been a better time to be a young professional in the Capital Region. Sacramento is making headlines across the country, and our young professional community is not only reaping the benefits, they are changing the game – taking their careers and our community to the #NextLevel through entrepreneurship, innovation, and passion for the Sacramento area.

Each year at the Emerge Summit – the largest one-day gathering of young professionals on the West Coast – nearly 700 engaged and energetic young leaders from all over Northern and Central California, come together for one day of inspiration and motivation.

This year, Metro EDGE’s Emerge Summit is being held on March 1 at Memorial Auditorium. Attendees will be encouraged to explore different experiences and to take all aspects of their lives and communities to the #NextLevel. The day’s speakers include John Bissell, a Forbes “30 Under 30” winner, Sacramento native, graduate of UC Davis School of Management, and CEO of Origin Materials, an industrial biotechnology company, and Bernadette Austin, associate director of the UC Davis Center for Regional Change, whose projects include West Sacramento’s first urban farm stand, and the first project in the country to implement a federal program combining housing vouchers and health services for disabled adults.

We are also working with 17 regional partners who will provide educational breakout sessions geared towards everything from negotiation, crafting our region’s creative vision, and deciphering the truth in politics and the media, to investing in travel, and learning lessons from our six-year-old
selves.

If you are a young professional and want to be inspired to take all aspects of your life to the #NextLevel, get involved with Metro EDGE and attend Emerge. If you employ or work with young professionals, encourage them to join us! This interactive event will provide opportunities to engage in the issues affecting the region and young professionals as individuals. Fresh ideas and collaboration will help the Capital Region reach its #NextLevel.
