One of our stops will be Portside Pier which opened in July 2020 after an extensive renovation that began in 2015 and showcases the results of a partnership between The Port of San Diego, the City of San Diego, and The Brigantine INC.

More than simply a replacement waterfront restaurant, the new civic amenity includes various public access features, such as a second-floor public walkway with panoramic views of San Diego Bay, a second-floor public viewing deck with tables and benches for up to 108 visitors, and a “dock and dine” option available for use by patrons and non-patrons of the adjacent restaurant.

Delegates will hear from San Diego stakeholders about the process they utilized, from the first public meeting to the ribbon cutting, to ideate and create a stunning piece of placemaking.
